Salzhaus is one of the five West Salem Modern homes. With its upturned form and cedar soffit, the roof creates a welcoming approach while coupling with the cedar accents of the neighboring homes. Glazing that runs from top to bottom of the double height foyer allows light to spill in and the industrial sliding doors activate the space in conjunction with the cedar treatments and polished concrete floor. A wood framed canopy runs from the side entry to the back patio, also accessible by the sliding glass doors along the living room tucked into the back of the home. The back patio is also covered by a modest deck connected to the upstairs master bedroom. From there a framed view of downtown peaks through the tree line.
