Nestled on a rolling landscape in High Rock Lake, North Carolina, Board + Batten Event Center offers assembly space for weddings and large gatherings. The building program was defined through a thoughtful discovery experience where the client provided key concepts for the design team. The client emphasized a necessity to harness the landscape, provide for abundant natural light and visually connect the inside with the out. Exterior and interior details consist of simple lines with timeless materials of wood, stone, metal, and glass that elevate the rural context while providing a fresh contemporary feel.
